Local Jollibee fans, the Filipino fast food chain has answered your prayers. Culturemap Dallas reports that an outpost of the cult favorite fried chicken chain will land in Dallas. Find it at 4703 Greenville Avenue in a former Jack in the Box location. The hope is to open up the Dallas location with a mid-summer timeline.
The Philippines-based fast food chain is expanding rapidly in the U.S., with plans to open up 500 more locations in North America in the next five to seven years. It’s certainly a hit locally: when Jollibee opened its very first DFW location in Plano in 2020, folks waited in the drive-thru line for more than four hours to get fried chicken, sweet spaghetti, and mango-peach pies.
Man pleads guilty to lying to food bank about Dallas Cowboys players
The Houston Chronicle reports that Timothy Barnes Gardner plead guilty to charges of deception and theft of property after claiming to the South Texas Food Bank that he could produce appearances from professional athletes for fundraisers. Gardner promised he had connections to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and former tight end Jason Witten, and Gardner pocketed $41,000 from the food bank despite failing to deliver on his promises.
