Dallas is strongly represented in the James Beard Awards semifinalists for this year — with a few nods to places in the suburbs as well. The final nominees for the prestigious awards will be announced on April 4, with a ceremony to name the winners to follow on June 10.

In contrast to last year, DFW has no semifinalists on the Best New Restaurant or Outstanding Restaurant lists. The latter was where Lucia was recognized last year, with its chef landing a notable nod this year.

The Metroplex did land several names on the best chef in Texas list, however.

Here’s the complete list of semifinalists in the Metroplex.

Outstanding Chef: David Uygur of Lucia

Outstanding Bakery: La Casita Bakeshop

Outstanding Hospitality: Gemma

Best Chef, Texas: Misti Norris of Petra and the Beast, Regino Rojas of Purépecha, Anastacia Quiñones-Pittman of José, Arnulfo Sánchez III of Vaqueros Texas Bar-B-Q, and Rich Vana of the Heritage Table

Check out the finalists in Austin and in Houston.
