Chelsea Corner

A revamp of a 1974 original, today’s Chelsea Corner is just as great as its predecessor. Swing by with the crew for hot honey chicken pizza and stunning seasonal cocktails during happy hour on one of the neighborhood’s best patios.

Toulouse

Toulouse offers a cozy Parisian cafe vibe in the middle of Dallas with old-school dishes like buttery, garlicky escargots and French onion soup. It’s also the center of excellent people watching in the city, with it’s location just off the Katy Trail.

For lunch or dinner, this neighborhood restaurant, exported from New York City, is a solid choice. Obviously the menu leans into French cooking, but there are a load of American comfort food staples as well, served in an elevated style. One hot tip is to consider the soup of the day — each is made fresh and rotates out regularly.

The Porch

The Porch has been a neighborhood stalwart for quite some time, but after its recent facelift it also got a retooled menu — so for those who haven’t been by in a minute, it’s a whole new world. The new patio is weather proof, with both misters and AC for the summer and heaters for cooler weather. The old favorite burger is still around, but now it’s joined by poke bowls, a Kale Czar salad (a Mediterranean-style play on the Caesar), and smoked brisket enchiladas.

Open since 1998, this Irish boasts a cozy atmosphere, plenty of whiskey, and fan-favorite snacks. Pair a pint or two with excellent fish and chips, or assemble a shareable board of cheese and snacks from a lengthy list of options like whiskey cheddar, homemade pate, and Welsh rarebit.

The simple menu offers classic dishes, from grilled lamb chops to steak frites, as well as an expansive seafood program. Perhaps most importantly: it has an extensive list of options for bubbles.

Salum recently reopened after experiencing water damage in a storm, and it’s good to have another white tablecloth option back in the rotation of this neighborhood. The seasonal menu is full of elevated classics, from savory homemade spinach pappardelle to an olive braised roast chicken.

If you came to party, land here. Sfuzzi, with it’s red lights and shiny booths straight out of the ‘90s version of this restaurant, caters to a crowd that loves to see and be seen. Don’t miss the Sausage Rustica pizza, with sausage from Jimmy’s Food Store, or the Frozen Sfuzzi, which has been resurrected from it’s original recipe. And of course, there’s the Key Bump Shot, which says it all.

The DaLat food empire has been a welcome presence in Knox-Henderson and while the pizzas are great, make sure to try Vietnamese comfort food (and karaoke, for those who are game) at this late night friendly spot. Pho, ramen, and the spam musubi are all can’t miss options.
