For those tasked with the preparation of Thanksgiving dinner, the holiday isn’t just all about eating and watching football. It means standing over a hot oven, praying the turkey doesn’t burn and potentially ruining the pumpkin pie. Then, when the meal is over and everyone’s in a pie coma, there are all those dishes to do.

This year, say no thanks and order a prepared holiday feast from one of these Dallas-area restaurants located on the ancestral Indigenous lands of the Lenapehoking Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo), Jumanos, Tawakoni, and Wichita people.

Includes a turkey in piri piri (African chili pepper) sauce, braised collared greens, linguica calabresa (Brazilian sausage) stuffing, mashed potatoes, duck confit gravy, sweet potato rolls from its in-house bakehouse Doughregarde’s, and a pumpkin cheesecake tarte. The meal serves four and costs $295. Optional wine pairings and additional rolls and tartes are available. Only 30 meals are being made available, on a first-come, first-served basis. Call the restaurant to order by November 18.

If you’ve got a larger crowd, Oak’d BBQ has a couple of packages that feed ten to 12. The first has a ten- to 12-pound smoked turkey, two sides, cranberry relish, turkey gravy, one dozen brioche rolls, plus dessert for $265. The second has all that, plus a six-pound smoked spiral ham and two desserts for $385. Additional items from the menu can be purchased or added a la carte. Order online by Saturday, November 19 at 6 p.m.

The Market at Sadelle’s, which is newly opened as of September, will be open to offering takeaway from the restaurant’s usual menu. Order the rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes, and you’ll have something close to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

It promises all the traditional favorites plus sweet and savory sides. This year’s options include a house-made vegan roast with wheat and soy, broccoli rice casserole, cornbread stuffing, mac and cheese made with cashew and coconut cheese, green bean casserole, and much more — including deserts.
