For those who live in Lakewood, the food is practically an amenity. In addition to tree-lined streets and attractions like the Dallas Arboretum, there’s so much incredible food in this happening East Dallas neighborhood that attracts both locals and discerning diners from all over DFW.

For those who aren’t in the know, Lakewood is technically defined as the area just west of White Rock Lake, bordered on the north side by Mockingbird Lane and lassoed by Abrams and Gaston on its southernmost end. Word to the wise: don’t call it Lakewood if it’s not. This map might stretch that definition just a little, but only to show off the area’s essential eats.

Geographic spats aside, this area is positively packed with excellent restaurants, all serving their best dishes for takeout or delivery. Whether you’re in the mood for pizza, tacos, brunch, or a perfect bagel, one of these essential Lakewood eateries will fit the bill.
