The Parlor on Commerce

From the first bite of perfectly toasted bread, it’s clear this sandwich is a winner. Oozy and savory with a hint of sweetness from caramelized onions, it’s everything diners expect from a genuine patty melt. There’s hardly a better way to indulge in a post-drinking food coma than with the velvety texture of American cheese melted on a beef patty between two slices of traditional rye bread from Village Baking Company.

This vegan hot spot is reinventing classic protein-based dishes, and it’s doing it up big. The Triple Double (aka The Dugan Nash) features two vegetarian patties stacked between three grilled cheese sandwiches for the ultimate brunch indulgence.

Bologna has gotten a bad wrap, but Shoals’ “Nitty Gritty” is turning the tables on the standard childhood sandwich. Choose the half size, or spring for the whole pound - this sandwich will change the way diners look at bologna (and sandwiches in general). It’s tangy and savory thanks to a generous smear of pickled vegetables.

Cock & Bull Neighborhood Pub

The Cock & Bull is doing it right when it comes to the classic reuben sandwich. Wagyu corned beef sets the stage for Gruyere cheese and roasted jalapeños, which provide that extra kick that puts this reuben in a class of its own.

Where else would diners find one of the best traditional Mexican sandwiches other than the self-proclaimed “Capital de la Torta?” With over two dozen torta options all crafted with authentic south-of-the-border flavors, it feels like a trip to Mexico City without ever leaving DFW. To top it off, every sandwich is decked out with mayo, avocado, tomato, onion, Oaxaca cheese, jalapeños, and chipotle peppers.

Dot's Hop House & Cocktail Courtyard

This open-faced Philly cheesesteak was made for the adventurous (and hungry) brunch-goer. As mouthwatering as it is mountainous, Dot’s has created a behemoth among other causal brunch items with queso-smothered duck fat fries and grilled peppers and onions that rest on top of a chicken-fried ribeye and a jalapeño-cheddar cornbread waffle with candied bacon.

Holy Grail Pub

The Grail raises the bar when it comes to pub food, and its Monte Cristo is a cut above. Diners will find ham, turkey, and swiss cheese, all deep fried then sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with a side of blackberry preserves.

Indulge in Ellen’s open face meatloaf sandwich made with prime angus beef, mashed potatoes, bell peppers, pan gravy, and of course, a fried egg. It’s home cooking that gets diners over the post-drinking slump and back on their feet.

Full Circle Tavern

Full Circle Tavern turns out so many standout sandwiches, but brunch hours demand the infamous Badass Biscuit. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and cheddar cheese are all piled on a home-style biscuit smothered in gravy. It’s a sure-fire cure for any hazy head fog still lingering after an all-nighter.

The Woolworth

The Woolworth’s hangover breakfast sandwich pretty much announces that it is here to fix whatever damage was done by drinking the night before. A cheesy biscuit is the foundation for seasoned hash browns, habanero fried chicken, bourbon maple syrup, sausage, two kinds of bacon, pepper gravy, and fried eggs. No hangover could survive this brunch feast.
