Autumn is officially here (okay, it was here two weeks ago, but that chill in the air is relatively new) and that means one thing: pumpkin-flavored evvvverything. Grocery store shelves are lined with everything from marshmallows to beer flavored with everyone's favorite gourd, but most of those contain little more than artificial flavoring and coloring and a pumpkin pie-esque aroma provided by spices.
Instead, Eater recommends that pumpkin fiends seek out the tasty incarnations that are available locally—from souffles to soups and pies of both the traditional and whoopie variety, pumpkin lovers will find plenty of seasonal offerings to satiate their squash cravings.
