Meat pies have long been a staple on the menu at this Design District gastropub. These days, they're featuring two varieties: a classic "steak and stout" pie with carrots, peas, and mushrooms, and the more unusual rabbit version with braised collards, shiitakes, and hominy. (And as always, the Moth's beer experts can suggest the perfect pairing.)

Over at swanky Henderson Avenue destination Hibiscus, always-inventive chef Graham Dodds is experimenting with individual meat pies filled with a rather unusual protein -- goat neck. Currently a featured special, the pies are served over oh-so-autumnal celery root puree.

3. Greenville Bar & Grill

It comes flanked by a side of sweet-and-spicy sauced cauliflower, though the only accompaniment it really needs is a cold pint of beer.
