It's time for the waiting to end: The Eater 38 has returned with a quarterly update. For the uninitiated, this is a thorough map that is meant to help answer that age-old question "Can you recommend a restaurant ...?"
As with the January 38, there are some changes: In with past omissions, newer spots and deserving longtime performers. Out with some expected, tired or transitioning. And don't fret, because all the 'hoods are covered, as are dietary preferences and, naturally, old favorites: burgers from Wingfield's and Charley's, Tex-Mex from Avila's and Pepe & Mito's, vegan fun at Spiral Diner. The only thing you won't find is a place with dinner tabs requiring piles of Scrooge McDuck's coinage.
IN: Nonna Tata, Maxim's Chinese Restaurant, Cafe Modern, Goodfriend Beer Garden and Burger House.
OUT: The Commissary, Mai's Vietnamese, Grace, Fred's Texas Cafe
Don't see your favorite restaurant on the list? Well, put away your blow darts, be productive and nominate it for inclusion. State your cases for (or against) restaurants in the comments or in the tipline. Remember the rules: restaurants must have been open for six months and generally shouldn't be classified as "fine dining."
