Victory Park doesn’t exactly have a reputation as a major dining neighborhood in the city, but over the past few years, a number of happening new eateries have joined the area’s longstanding establishments to create a dining scene that is finally vibrant. There’s Tex-Mex, Japanese, Mediterranean, and Italian cuisine, along with plenty of options for an excellent cocktail.

Whether you’re headed to the neighborhood to watch the Dallas Mavericks or Dallas Stars play at the American Airlines Center or just for a good time, these 13 bars in and around Victory Park will fit the bill.

Happiest Hour

A Victory Park stalwart, Cook Hall has been serving gastropub fare inside the W Dallas hotel since long before the revitalization began. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, serving everything from omelets to lobster gnocchi and duck tacos.

Swing into this Dallas-based chain for freshly-pressed juices with new-age names like Vitality (carrot, cucumber, apple, orange) and Clarity (cucumber, fennel, kale, mint, spinach, lime). Raw soups, turmeric shots, and raw almond milk are also on offer.

The sweet offerings go far beyond the basic popsicle at this frozen dessert destination. Excellent gelato and sorbet pops await, in flavors like green tea, blood orange, and banana, all of which can be customized with chocolatey drizzles, sprinkles, sauces, and nuts. There’s also ice cream sandwich popsicles and gelato milkshakes.

Arguably one of the best new additions to Victory Park’s dining scene, Billy Can Can’s saloon schtick belies the chic space and solid dishes that await inside. Start with venison tartare and a Silver Dollar cocktail (gin, aquavit, vermouth, douglas fir essence, pickled radish), then move onto heartier fare like steak frites, braised short rib, or roasted snapper served with filé gumbo, crawfish, and shrimp.

Already one of Dallas’s favorite Tex-Mex establishments, Mesero brings a killer brunch destination to Victory Park. Head here on the weekends for chilaquiles, avocado toast, and huevos rancheros, Mesero-style. Of course, the frozen margaritas will also be flowing.
