'Tis the season for drinking, merry-making and soon, all those extravagant holiday meals. Fortunately, you don't need to be a whiz in the kitchen to dazzle all your friends and in-laws with tasty circular desserts; if baking isn't your forte, there's plenty of professional pie bakers around these parts to make your life a whole lot easier.

Here's a helpful map of 10 of North Texas' finest pie-makers to help you coast through into 2014. (And if you act fast, some of these places may even be able to hook you up by Thanksgiving.)

Emporium Pies

Meghan Wilkes and Mary Booth are churning out killer handmade pies including the pumpkin Drop Dead Gourdgeous, Smooth Operator (chocolate silk with pretzel crust), the deep-dish apple Lord of the Pies, or the butterscotch and caramel Cloud NIne. Uncle Willie's Pies

Uncle Willie's has been doing catering and baking since 1996, and now they've got a retail location in Red Oak where you can order whole pies including but not limited to pecan, German chocolate, the Almond Joy-esque "Coco-Nutty," sweet potato, apple, pumpkin, chess, banana cream and coconut cream. Prices range from $16.99 to $18.99. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. but you'll have to call ahead to order whole pies.

Malai Thai Vietnamese Kitchen & Bar

For a slightly more exotic take on the usual holiday pies, this West Village spot is offering its signature coconut cream pies to-go for the holidays. Whole pies are $35 and include sides of tamarind caramel sauce and coconut gelato to dress it up for company. Call Malai to place your order at least 24 hours in advance.

Mama's Daughters' Diner
